A couple of years ago when my parents were re-financing their house, they could not figure out why their closing costs were so high and thought they would never be able to pay off their home. I had to watch my parents fight and argue over the years because they didn’t own their home free and clear. In addition, they did not know what a mortgage was or how it worked. This is when I decided to join the lending industry and have been loan officer since 2003.

As time has gone by, I have realized that my parents are not the only people who don’t understand how mortgages work. Some of the most frequently asked questions were...

The biggest questions I keep getting asked...
"What is a Mortgage?" 
"How do I qualify for a mortgage?" 
"How do mortgages work?"
"Why does it take so long to pay it off?"
"Why is my monthly payment stay the same the whole time?"

So, I decided to put together information for people to help them understand how mortgages work. Along with that, help them prepare themselves for one of the biggest investments of their lives… and how to qualify for it. Qualifying for a mortgage is probably one of the hardest you will encounter. Why? Because it is so ambiguous. There is no education in school, no teacher, no mentor to show you the ropes. There seems to be nothing out there to prepare you for the day you are ready to buy a home. So I wrote this book to teach you how to qualify, it is not that hard!
